Labor Day

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

By | Holiday

Why do we celebrate Labor Day?

Labor Day is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It also honors the workforce’s contribution of strength and prosperity to the country.

Planned by the Central Labor Union, it was first celebrated on September 5, 1882 in New York City. Sen. James Henderson Kyle of South Dakota introduced the bill to make this day a legal holiday. It was approved on June 28, 1894.

We hope you have a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend! Our offices will be closed Friday, September 1, at 3:00 and will reopen Tuesday, September 5.
